Family means many things to many people - there is no universal definition. However the idea of family usually connotes extended involvement on an emotional level. For this reason, the idea of family therapy is very powerful in treating alcoholism and drug addiction, and is an integral part od Promsies drug treatment program. Because drug or alcohol use is surrounded by emotional considerations, it is our job as an alcohol rehab and drug rehab facility to explore each participant's issues with these close, interpersonal relationships. At Promises, our family program is a collection of techniques including counseling and therapy. Our family program has three main objectives:
In family therapy and counseling, our clinicians treat the family as the entity receiving treatment - not any one specific individual. Our therapists and clinicians are trained to identify problem spots in personal relationships and intervene through discussion and problem solving exercises.
When conducting family programs, the facilitator must be extra vigilant as there are numerous considerations when integrating family counseling and therapy into addiction treatment. Our counselors and therapists have the education and years of experience to manage complicated treatment situations, including situations where cultural, financial and even abusive conditions exist. Based on an individual's progress, modifications in the family therapy component of our addiction treatment program are made frequently for the benefit of the family and the individual in treatment.
Although complicated and sometimes difficult for participants and families alike, we strongly believe that an individual cannot heal and thus fully recover from drug addiction or alcoholism without receiving family therapy and/or counseling. For nearly two decades, we have been providing families across the United States with lasting recovery from drugs and alcohol, and we look forward to assisting you or your loved one find your own peace.
