Getting Your Loved One into Treatment

We also understand that most family members feel scared, overwhelmed, angry, and helpless. Addiction affects everyone who loves and cares about the addict.

Promises Treatment Centers are here to help you get through this confusing time of transition to a healthier, more loving connection to your family member or loved one.

Intervention

Because over 60% of our inquiries are from friends and loved ones, our admissions team focuses on educating family members by spending a significant amount of time talking about how to get your loved one into treatment. We can coordinate every aspect of an intervention, from setting up the interventionist to talking to members of the family if necessary. We are here for you to make this process as smooth and painless as possible.

Signs & Symptoms: How do I know if my family member or loved one needs treatment? Promises Treatment Centers administer the DAST and SAMSA tests.

In-patient vs. out-patient: We’ll screen and assess—we have all levels of care and will help place at the most appropriate care needed.

Treatment/Family Program

We’ve found that about 90% of family members want to be involved in the treatment of their loved one.

We will pick up clients or their families anytime at the airport and help to coordinate your travel process. We’ll do whatever we can to make this easier for you—you’ve been dealing with a lot.

Promises Treatment Centers integrate family members throughout the client’s treatment so families see the different phases of treatment. Within 24-48 hours, we will reach out to significant others during the client’s detoxification and help transition the family to the client’s treatment program.

Promises employs two fulltime family therapists (MLB). Every client is assigned to one primary and one family therapist throughout their treatment.

Family therapists meet individually with their client to work on their original family issues. Family therapists also meet individually with their client’s significant others to provide education and support.

This level of care is determined strictly on the needs of the client and individual situation—we respect the sanctity of each relationship and will not contact family members until we touch base with the client.

Every Saturday is Family Day

Morning -The day starts off with morning group with significant others followed by support and education.

Group Lunch - Non-confrontational group lunch

Afternoon - The rest of day could consist of a couples session, family session or individual session with a family member.

Family therapists are available throughout the week to have phone sessions with family members. Individual family couples sessions can also be scheduled throughout the week.

Wednesday night offsite: significant other support group.

Out-of-Care Transition

Because you cannot return a treated person to an untreated environment, Promises Treatment Centers educate and engage families in continuing care planning.

After 30 to 90 days being away from the home, marriages can sometimes be strained after treatment. We will help ease our clients back into their home and community. We’ll help make referrals for the family, such as local therapists or meetings.

Extended care program: 2 weeks minimum stay to 30-60 days. Family programs after that. Weekly Alumni meetings for current and past clients

Outside of US

Promises Treatment Centers have welcomed clients and their families from all over the world. Typically, for our out-of-state or out of country clients, we will discuss at the outset of treatment how often a client’s family member can come.

For those unable to make the trip out to Promises, we also offer web-based video conference call sessions scheduled periodically throughout the client’s treatment.
