How much does drug rehab treatment cost?

The cost of addiction treatment varies based on the level of care needed and insurance coverage. We accept most PPO insurances as well as private pay. Our expertly trained recovery advisors will work directly with your insurance company to determine your coverage and ensure you get the maximum benefits available to you under your plan. How long does addiction treatment last?

We offer varying lengths of stay depending on each client’s needs, from two-week stabilization up through a 90-day residential program. Our specialty is a 35-day treatment program.

Do you provide drug detox?

Yes. We offer onsite medical detox using the latest evidence-based medications as appropriate to ease withdrawal symptoms. Our medical team attends to clients around the clock ensuring that this period is as safe, comfortable and effective as possible.

Is family involved in treatment?

Yes. At Promises Austin drug and alcohol rehab, we help the whole family heal from addiction. We provide regular updates to family as clinically appropriate as well as weekly family therapy. We also offer a two-day family program that provides education on the disease of addiction and helps restore healthy communication.

Do you treat trauma?

Yes. We understand that trauma is often at the root of addiction and mental health disorders. Our clinicians are specially trained in trauma treatment, and we provide a variety of trauma-focused therapies.

Do you treat co-occurring disorders?

Yes. Our staff includes experienced medical and mental health specialists who treat the mental health disorders that often co-occur with addictions, including depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, trauma and personality disorders.

Can I exercise while I’m in treatment?

Yes. Fitness is a key component of our approach to treatment, which addresses addiction and mental health issues from all angles — physical, mental and spiritual. We set aside time each day for fitness and strongly encourage participation as part of a healthy recovery lifestyle.

What’s the food like?

Meals are healthy and nutritious. Each client meets with our nutritionist to determine nutrition goals, deficiencies and ways proper nutrients can support their recovery. Our nutritionist then works with our professional chef to tailor meals to meet these needs.

What should I bring to treatment?

What to Bring For Your Stay

  • Comfortable, casual clothing including closed-toe or hiking shoes. Appropriate tops with ½ inch straps, and shorts or skirts may be worn with appropriate undergarments.
  • Swim suit: one piece for women and board shorts for men (no exceptions).
  • Exercise, recreation and hiking clothes.
  • Light sweater or pullover for cool group rooms and evenings.
  • Personal toiletries such as toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.
  • Personal medications – 35 day supply. Must be in the original prescription bottle with your name. All medications will require approval from the Promises Austin medical director.
  • Important contact names (e.g., doctors, lawyers, family members), including addresses and telephone numbers.
  • Twelve Step literature.
    A personal music device that is not Wifi-enabled, with earphones
  • Musical instruments are permissible (guitars, etc.).
  • Additional leisure time activities: books (subject to approval), art supplies, journal, etc.
  • Personal pillow or blanket.
  • You may bring dietary supplements (vitamins, minerals, etc.).  These will be approved by the medical director for personal use.
  • Laptop – held by staff and signed out at approved times.
  • Up to $100 cash along with a credit/debit card for the store, etc. (Will be held in our safe until meeting or outing time.) We suggest that clients not bring more than $100 in cash.
  • Hair dryer.
  • Laundry bag.

What Not to Bring During Your Stay

  • Valuables such as jewelry.
  • A vehicle (parking space is limited).
  • Abusive medications (including but not limited to stimulants, pain pills or anti-anxiety medications).
  • Electronic games, TVs, DVD players, iPods, radios, walkmans, CDs.
  • Over-the-counter sleeping pills, diet pills or home remedies.
  • Weapons of any kind.
  • Personal drinks/snacks (especially if it contains caffeine).
  • Seductive or explicit clothing depicting sex, drugs, alcohol or bars.
  • Aerosol cans, shoe polish, perfume or mouthwash/aftershave containing alcohol.
  • Tank tops, short shorts or mini skirts.

Can I use my phone?

We consider the first week of treatment as “unplugged,” as you settle in and begin the work of recovery. After the first five days you may use your phone during morning hours before breakfast and evening hours after dinner, loosely supervised and when clinically appropriate.

Can I have visitors?

Yes. Visitors are welcome from 1 to 5 pm on Sundays as approved by your primary therapist. All visitors are required to attend a weekly educational/support group for family members and clients together. We may also offer additional visits with young children throughout the week when clinically appropriate. Approved sponsors are welcome on campus to support your recovery, as clinically appropriate.

Do you provide transportation?

Yes. We can provide transportation to and from the Austin airport.

Do you provide aftercare planning?

Yes. Our Austin rehab offers a full continuum of care that includes continuing care planning. We’ll help you prepare for a smooth transition back home or to a sober living facility by ensuring you have the resources in place to succeed in recovery. If you were referred by your current therapist, physician or other provider, we’ll work closely with them to provide a seamless continuity of care.
