Chef Carter has been a food service professional for over 34 years. A Houston native, Carter cut his teeth in various Texas, California and New Mexico restaurants. Realizing his passion in life was to serve others through food, he pursued formal education at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.
Prior to coming to Promises Austin, Chef Carter served as senior chef instructor at Le Cordon Bleu’s North American campus in Austin. While there he attained various certifications from the American Culinary Federation, International Association of Culinary Professionals, the Texas Workforce Commission, and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Philanthropic endeavors include working with the Central Texas Food Bank and Austin Boxer Rescue. His hobbies include mountain climbing, kayaking, hunting and tending to an ever-increasing flock of backyard chickens.
