Recovering Drug Addicts and Alcoholics Reunite at Recovery Center in Arizona
Under crystal blue skies and balmy temperatures more than 100 recovering drug addicts and alcoholics gathered on the rustic landscape of The Sundance’s drug and alcohol addiction recovery center at an alumni reunion to showcase their sobriety, eat good food, listen to a live jazz band, and engage in the message of hope for those still sick and suffering from the disease of substance abuse addiction.
The annual Sundance Center alumni reunion underscores the success of the highly acclaimed drug and alcohol addiction recovery program at The Sundance Center in Arizona, which focuses on helping guests gain recovery through a holistic platform that promotes healing of the mind, body and spirit.
At The Sundance Center’s annual alumni gathering, former guests mingled and shared their recovery stories with one another and talked about the strong relationship they have re-cultivated with their families since they graduated the program at The Sundance’s drug and alcohol addiction recovery center and re-entered their communities.
“This is what I dreamt of doing when I came to The Sundance Center a year ago with very little hope of kicking my addiction to heroin and alcohol,” one alumnus said. “I never thought I would be here at this drug and alcohol addiction recovery center sharing my own recovery success story nearly a year later. It’s a great feeling and I owe it all to the staff at The Sundance Center.”
The highlight of the Saturday afternoon alumni gathering surrounded the keynote speaker with multiple years of freedom from the bondage of drug and alcohol addiction. The message of perseverance and hope resonated throughout his sharing of his journey from the darkness of his past addiction to the light of his present sobriety. He told the audience that hope never leaves us … even those who are still on the fence about getting sober in spite of suffering from the grip of the insidious disease of their addiction. “As long as you are alive and breathing, you have hope for recovery and experiencing a better way of life.”
