Adderall addiction can mimic some allergy symptoms, such as hives, rashes, chest pain, shortness of breath and dry mouth. These are all infrequent but possible side effects of Adderall use. In rare cases, an allergic reaction to Adderall itself can occur, which can be life-threatening in the case of an anaphylactic reaction. If your child complains of a constricted throat, do not attempt to solve the problem on your own; call 911. An injection of epinephrine is the only way to save the life of someone experiencing anaphylaxis. Also in rare cases, a skin condition called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome can occur, which at first may mimic an allergic reaction.
